Before the war broke out, 16-year-old Yasser Ayad often cooked with his parents at their home in Gaza. His passion for cuisine was something he had pursued since childhood. However, his father was killed in the conflict, and the family home was reduced to rubble.
Despite this, the young man remains determined to carry on his family's tradition and honor his late father. Amid the backdrop of conflict and widespread hunger, Yasser began recording his cooking videos and posting them on social media. Gradually, he became one of the most famous young chefs in Gaza.
Now living in a cramped tent with scarce food supplies, Yasser still strives to recreate traditional Palestinian dishes while rekindling the community's love for their homeland's cuisine. His short clips on preparing meals not only attract viewers' attention but also bring a touch of warmth amid the flames of war.
