Iran's newly appointed Consul General in Kazan, Russia, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, according to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the new consul general presented his action plan and priority directions to Araghchi, aimed at promoting bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation with the Tatarstan region and neighboring areas of the Russian Federation.
Foreign Minister Araghchi emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination between Iran's diplomatic missions and the Ministry's headquarters, while also advising the consul general to focus on developing economic, trade, and cultural ties within his area of responsibility.
Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, has long been regarded as a key economic, scientific, and religious hub in Russia, serving as a bridge for exchanges between Iran and Russia.
