The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that the 2027 Spanish Super Cup will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. The announcement comes as Saudi Arabia, which has hosted the competition since 2020, is unable to continue due to a scheduling conflict with the Asian Cup, the continent's premier men's football tournament.
According to the plan, the Final Four-format tournament will take place from February 2 to 7, 2027, featuring four of Spain's top clubs: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. These teams qualified as champions and runners-up of La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
Barcelona, the defending champions after defeating Real Madrid in the 2026 final, have also confirmed that the tournament will return to Saudi Arabia in 2028. This venue shift marks a temporary change in the RFEF's hosting plans, aimed at ensuring the schedule does not clash with major international tournaments.
