Roki Sasaki allowed three runs over five innings and Shohei Ohtani continued to struggle at the plate as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost 9-3 to the San Francisco Giants on Monday in the opener of a four-game series. Despite a decent start from Sasaki, the Dodgers' offense could not back him up, and the Giants seized their chances to win convincingly at Oracle Park.
Roki Sasaki struggled to find his rhythm, allowing three runs over five-plus innings, while Shohei Ohtani remained mired in an offensive slump as the Los Angeles Dodgers fell 9-3 to the San Francisco Giants on Monday.
The game marked the first of a four-game series between the two Major League Baseball (MLB) rivals. Although Sasaki started relatively well, the Dodgers' lineup provided little support, with Ohtani managing just one hit in four at-bats.
The Giants, playing at Oracle Park in San Francisco, capitalized on scoring opportunities to build an early lead and cruised to a convincing victory.
