Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council, Mojtaba Rezaei, held talks with senior Pakistani officials, reaffirming Tehran's commitment to a strategic partnership with Islamabad. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on measures to promote security, trade, and energy cooperation, as well as issues of mutual concern in the region.
According to an official statement, Rezaei emphasized that Iran-Pakistan ties are not solely based on bilateral interests but also play a key role in maintaining regional stability. He called on both countries to bolster coordination in international forums and enhance existing cooperation mechanisms to address shared challenges such as terrorism, cross-border crime, and economic issues.
For its part, Pakistan expressed readiness to expand relations with Iran, particularly as both nations work on infrastructure connectivity projects and boost cross-border trade. The discussions also touched on potential cooperation in energy, gas pipelines, and expanding bilateral commerce.
