On December 15, Al Jazeera confirmed that one of its photojournalists was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip. The incident occurred while the journalist was working in a conflict-affected area.
According to Al Jazeera sources, photojournalist Ahmad Al-Louh, 32, was struck by fire during an airstrike targeting southern Gaza. The event took place early in the morning as Ahmad was filming in a residential area under attack.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not yet issued an official comment on the incident. However, international human rights organizations have condemned the attack and called for the safety of journalists in war zones.
This is the third Al Jazeera journalist killed in Gaza since the conflict erupted last October. Earlier, two other network journalists, Shireen Abu Akleh and Mohammad Salhi, died in similar attacks.
Al Jazeera has condemned the incident and called on the international community to investigate, urging all parties to the conflict to respect international law and ensure the safety of journalists.
