On August 24, according to information posted on the website of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), several vice presidents from President Masoud Pezeshkian's government made an official visit to the agency's headquarters in Tehran.
The delegation included several senior officials, including vice presidents responsible for strategic affairs, communications, and other areas. The visit came as Iran's new government is strengthening dialogue with the media to promote transparency in governance.
During the working session, the vice presidents toured IRNA's departments and news production centers and held discussions with the agency's leaders, reporters, and editors. The officials stressed the importance of the press in reflecting government policies and said cooperation between media outlets and the government should be enhanced so that information reaches the public more promptly and accurately.
IRNA representatives also presented their development plans, the difficulties and challenges they face in their operations, and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of information and communication efforts. Both sides agreed to enhance coordination in the coming period to better serve the public's information needs and contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
The visit took place amid the administration of President Pezeshkian, who took office in late July, and is implementing several reform programs, including modernizing media operations and strengthening ties with various segments of the population.
