He rejected allegations of hegemonic ambitions, emphasizing dialogue and mutual benefit. The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and Iran's efforts to bolster ties with neighbors.
Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref affirmed that Tehran's foreign strategy in the Middle East is built on a spirit of cooperation, aiming neither for exclusivity nor to exclude any country or entity.
Speaking at a diplomatic conference, Aref emphasized: 'Iran's regional approach is cooperative and not exclusive. We believe that sustainable stability and development can only be achieved through dialogue and mutual benefit.'
The Iranian Vice President also stressed the importance of strengthening relations with neighboring countries, while rejecting allegations that Tehran is pursuing a hegemonic policy in the region. According to him, Iran's activities, including economic and security agreements, are aimed at promoting common interests for all parties involved.
This statement comes amid persistent tensions between Iran and some regional rivals, particularly following attacks and allegations related to its nuclear program. However, Aref affirmed readiness to engage in multilateral negotiations to ease the situation.
Analysts believe that the Vice President's remarks reflect Tehran's effort to build an image as a responsible partner in the region, especially as it seeks to break out of diplomatic isolation and promote economic ties with neighboring Arab and Asian countries.
