On October 15, in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi received and held talks with a high-ranking Tajik delegation led by Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, including economy, trade, energy, transportation, and culture. The two diplomats emphasized the importance of implementing agreements signed between the two countries and discussed the roadmap for organizing high-level visits in the near future.
On regional issues, the two sides shared views on the situation in Afghanistan and stressed the need for coordination within multilateral forums, especially the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Foreign Minister Araghchi affirmed that Iran values its friendly relations with Tajikistan, viewing them as an important foundation for cooperation among Persian-speaking countries in the region.
For his part, Minister Muhriddin conveyed greetings from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed his desire to further promote the strategic partnership between the two countries. The two sides agreed to continue regular consultations and enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest.
