Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday stressed that ensuring the other side strictly adheres to the terms of a signed memorandum is a prerequisite for maintaining trust and advancing cooperation.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian argued that any agreement only carries meaning when fully and transparently implemented. “We must be certain that the other side shares the same responsibility as we do in respecting what is recorded in the memorandum,” he said, adding that monitoring and oversight of implementation are necessary to avoid misunderstandings and violations.
The Iranian leader's remarks come amid ongoing bilateral and regional negotiations, with several cooperation documents signed but not yet fully operational. Analysts suggest the statement reflects Tehran's cautious approach to international commitments, particularly in energy and security sectors.
Earlier, Iranian officials repeatedly called on all parties to act in good faith and refrain from imposing conditions that hinder the implementation of agreements. There has been no official response yet from the relevant parties to President Pezeshkian's latest remarks.
