Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday underscored two strategic priorities of his new administration: bolstering internal resilience and promoting closer cooperation with neighboring and regional countries. Speaking during a meeting with senior officials, Pezeshkian said that enhancing economic and social resilience is foundational to coping with international pressures.
According to him, regional coordination not only yields security benefits but also opens up new economic opportunities, particularly amid volatile global supply chains. The Iranian president also called for the development of multilateral dialogue mechanisms to address existing disputes while respecting the interests and sovereignty of each nation.
Previously, in speeches at domestic forums, Pezeshkian repeatedly emphasized a balanced foreign policy guided by a "Look to Asia" approach and prioritized relations with neighboring countries. Analysts say these statements reflect Tehran's direction toward expanding economic and political ties to mitigate the impact of international sanctions.
Regional observers believe that Iran's increased cooperation with traditional partners such as Russia and China, as well as Middle Eastern countries, will be a dominant trend during the new president's term, though it still harbors challenges amid complex geopolitical competition.
