Pakistan Denounces CBS Allegations of Anti-Iran Activities, Says They Undermine Reconciliation Efforts

Pakistan has formally rejected a CBS report alleging involvement in anti-Iran activities, calling it baseless and aimed at sabotaging diplomatic reconciliation between the two countries. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that both nations are working to build trust through dialogue.
The Pakistani government on Friday strongly dismissed claims aired by CBS television that it had carried out hostile actions against Iran. A Foreign Ministry spokesperson insisted the allegations were unfounded and untrue.
According to an official statement, the aim of the CBS report was to undermine confidence-building and cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. Pakistan stressed that both nations are actively promoting diplomatic dialogue to address common issues, particularly in the areas of security and border affairs.
In recent months, Islamabad and Tehran have held high-level exchanges aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, especially after a period of regional tensions. Spreading unsubstantiated information only complicates the situation and damages the shared interests of both sides.
Analysts say Pakistan’s swift denial was necessary to protect its image, maintain stable relations with Iran, and reaffirm its consistent position of resolving regional issues through dialogue.
