Japan Mint has announced the start of production of silver commemorative coins for the 20th Asian Games and Asian Para Games, to be held in Nagoya later this year.
The coins feature engraved designs of athletes in competition and the official mascot of the Games, marking the largest multi-sport event in Asia in 2026.
According to the schedule, the Nagoya Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026, with the Asian Para Games following from October 22 to 28.
This is the third time Japan has hosted the Asian Games, after Tokyo 1958 and Hiroshima 1994. The set of silver commemorative coins, produced by Japan Mint in limited quantities, is expected to be released widely on both domestic and international markets.
