On August 7, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a telephone conversation, focusing on the state of bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest.
The two sides agreed to step up high-level exchanges and promote cooperation in trade, energy, and border security. The Iranian foreign minister stressed the importance of maintaining regular dialogue to address common challenges, especially energy security and counterterrorism.
For his part, the Pakistani foreign minister affirmed Islamabad's commitment to ties with Tehran and expressed a desire to advance joint economic projects, including the completion of the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline. The phone call came as the two countries work to improve relations after recent tensions.
