On October 18 in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met and held talks with his Austrian counterpart, Alexander Schallenberg, who was on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, including economy, trade, energy, and culture. Foreign Minister Araghchi emphasized the importance of promoting a comprehensive partnership between Tehran and Vienna, expressing hope that the two countries would soon reach concrete agreements in the near future.
For his part, Foreign Minister Schallenberg affirmed Austria's high regard for relations with Iran and its desire to expand cooperation in areas of mutual benefit. He also appreciated Iran's role in the region and stated that direct dialogue is the best way to resolve outstanding issues.
The two foreign ministers also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the situation in the Middle East, the Afghan peace process, and the Iranian nuclear issue. Both agreed to maintain regular exchanges and close coordination in multilateral forums.
