On July 12, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries. During the exchange, Araghchi expressed a desire to promote bilateral relations in various fields, including economy, energy, and technology.
The Iranian foreign minister affirmed that Tehran and Caracas share common ground in resisting unilateral U.S. sanctions, and called on both sides to make the most of cooperation potential to overcome challenges. Araghchi also referred to joint projects already underway and urged accelerating their implementation.
For his part, the Venezuelan counterpart voiced support for cooperation initiatives and stressed the desire to expand the strategic partnership with Iran. The two sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue to advance signed agreements.
This phone call is the latest in a series of diplomatic engagements between Iran and Venezuela, aimed at strengthening the strategic alliance between the two nations under pressure from the West. Previously, the two countries had signed several cooperation agreements in oil, mining, and finance.
