Russian Duet Claims Gold in Artistic Swimming Free Routine at World Cup

Russian artistic swimmers Kira Cherezova and Valentina Gerasimova won gold in the free duet event at the third stop of the World Cup in Xi'an, China, with 304.6439 points. Silver went to fellow Russians, while Japan took bronze. The team earlier earned two silvers, and this is their first competition since international bans were lifted.
On May 2, at the third stop of the Artistic Swimming World Cup held in Xi'an, China, Russian swimmers Kira Cherezova and Valentina Gerasimova claimed gold in the free duet event with 304.6439 points.
Silver went to compatriots Kristina Chekhanova and Anastasia Sidorina with 285.8040 points, while bronze was awarded to Japan's Moe Higa and Tomoka Sato (283.1905 points).
Earlier, the Russian team had secured two silver medals: Cherezova and Gerasimova placed second in the technical duet, and the Russian national team ranked second in the team technical event.
The Xi'an World Cup stop concludes on May 3. Russia is competing under its national flag and anthem, marking the first competition for Russian artistic swimmers since the International Swimming Federation lifted its bans.
