Russia has expanded its air border defense arsenal with interceptor drones and laser anti-UAV systems, according to a government decree reported by TASS on May 1. The updated list includes radars, air defense systems, aircraft, electronic warfare devices, and new laser and drone platforms.
On May 1, the TASS news agency cited a new government decree stating that Russia has added interceptor drones (UAVs) and laser weapons to the forces tasked with protecting its air borders.
According to the document, the list of weapons and equipment permanently deployed to protect Russian airspace includes various radars, air defense systems, helicopters, aircraft, warships, boats, and electronic warfare devices. Additionally, the list now includes interceptor UAVs, jamming equipment, laser anti-UAV systems, and multi-purpose launchers described as 'capable of destroying space attack vehicles and their control systems.'
