Mizuho to Retrain Sales and Admin Staff as AI Engineers in Three Months

Mizuho Financial Group Inc., one of Japan's three leading megabanks, announced on Thursday that it will fully roll out a three-month training program starting next month, aimed at turning sales and administrative staff into artificial intelligence (AI) engineers.

Under the plan, the program is designed to equip non-technical personnel with the skills needed to work in the AI field, thereby expanding the group's internal talent pool to meet its digital transformation needs.

The move comes as Japanese financial institutions increasingly push to apply AI in their operations and service development, and underscores the growing trend of reskilling across the industry.
