BUSAN – The 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) officially opened Tuesday, kicking off 10 days of events. The highlight of this year's edition is the event's first recognition in the 'A-list' tier by a prestigious international cinema organization, reinforcing the global standing of Asia's leading film festival.
The 'A-list' designation is seen as a significant step in BIFF's efforts to raise its international influence, as the event serves not only as a meeting point for regional cinema but also aims to stand on par with the world's major film festivals.
Over the 10 days, the festival will bring together works and guests from many film industries, continuing its role as a venue for introducing, networking and promoting cooperation among filmmakers in the region and internationally.
