Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Saturday killed at least two people and wounded several others, including an attack on a medical supply depot within a hospital compound in central Gaza.
According to the director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah, an Israeli drone struck a tent used as a medical supply depot inside the hospital compound, wounding three people. The Israeli military confirmed it attacked a target in the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound, claiming a Hamas commander was killed, but provided no evidence.
In a separate incident, another Israeli drone attacked a cyclist in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. The Palestinian Wafa news agency reported at least one person killed and two wounded in the attack. The victims were taken to the al-Quds field hospital.
Earlier in the day, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in the village of al-Musaddar, east of Deir el-Balah. Additionally, hospital officials said a small Israeli drone dropped an explosive device near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
The Gaza Health Ministry said that over the past 48 hours, it had received a total of 10 bodies, including nine newly killed and one found under the rubble, along with 18 wounded. The ministry also noted that many other victims remain trapped under destroyed buildings or on roads that ambulance and civil defense teams cannot yet reach.
Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect last October, the Gaza Health Ministry said 1,313 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons said between 4,000 and 5,000 Palestinians are still missing and believed to be trapped under rubble in Gaza.
The center also estimated that between 2,500 and 3,000 people may have been forcibly disappeared during Israel's war in Gaza. The estimate is based on analytical research of a sample of 317 cases, of which 302 (95.27%) were men and 15 women, including 41 children and 17 people aged 60 or older.
Since the war began in October 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,000 wounded in Gaza, the majority of them women and children.
