Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning killed at least four people and wounded several others, according to local health officials.
In the al-Kateeba area, west of Gaza City, a drone attack killed at least three people, including two children, and wounded eight others, a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital said. Images shared online showed smoke rising and successive explosions from the attack.
Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza City, said he counted at least 13 drones over the area at the time of the attack. "For 35 minutes, drone attacks were continuous, with three of them hovering at dangerously low altitudes," he said. "Security forces at the scene said they spotted a group of special forces firing directly. But the aerial coverage was too intense. The situation is very chaotic."
In central Gaza, a separate attack in Deir el-Balah killed at least one person, according to a statement from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, without providing further details.
The Israeli military said it struck multiple targets in Gaza, claiming the strikes were aimed at eliminating threats to its forces. Israel's Channel 12 television reported hearing explosions throughout the strip, while the Palestinian news network Quds said missiles and quadcopter drones were used in the attacks.
Israel has killed at least 1,320 Palestinians and wounded more than 4,300 since the so-called "ceasefire" in Gaza took effect in October 2025.
