Tehran – Iranian officials declared on April 23 that the country has fully deployed necessary protective measures to ensure the safety of its nuclear assets and facilities. The statement comes as tensions between Iran and Western powers over its nuclear program continue to escalate.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stressed that “all of Iran’s nuclear assets are under the strictest protection” and that “any belligerent action against them will face a decisive response.” Kanaani did not provide specific details about the security measures but asserted that Iran has sufficient capability to defend its sovereignty and nuclear achievements.
Analysts say the declaration is meant to send a tough signal to Israel and the United States, following widespread speculation that Tel Aviv could target key Iranian nuclear sites. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly warned about a lack of transparency in Iran’s nuclear activities, but Tehran consistently rejects the criticism, insisting its program is entirely peaceful.
