Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Muhammad Yunus in Tehran on August 14, where he affirmed Iran's readiness to expand relations with Bangladesh in economic, trade, and cultural fields.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian emphasized that the two countries share historical, cultural, and religious similarities, providing a favorable foundation for promoting cooperation. He also expressed hope that bilateral relations would soon achieve concrete progress, benefiting both nations.
For his part, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Muhammad Yunus appreciated Iran's goodwill and suggested that both sides should strengthen high-level exchanges and promote existing cooperation mechanisms to deepen the relationship.
This is the first meeting between leaders of the two countries since President Pezeshkian took office, expected to open a new chapter in Iran-Bangladesh relations.
