Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman rejects Western accusations that Tehran is a bully, insisting it is a country fighting to defend its interests. He calls the claims unfounded and warns Iran will not bow to pressure.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman on October 28 rejected accusations from Western nations that Tehran is engaging in 'bullying' behavior in the region. Speaking at a regular press briefing, Nasser Kanaani emphasized: 'Iran is not a bully. Iran is fighting. We protect our national interests and regional security against threats.'
The remarks came after several Western officials criticized Iran’s military activities and foreign policy, alleging interference in the internal affairs of neighboring countries. The Iranian spokesman dismissed these accusations as baseless and a reflection of 'deliberate misunderstanding' of Tehran’s role.
Kanaani also affirmed that Iran adheres to international law and is ready for dialogue to resolve differences, but will not yield to pressure from major powers. The statement comes amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States and its allies over the nuclear program and regional influence.
