Iran’s ambassador to Mexico, Mohammad Reza Gholami, on September 25 expressed his country’s wish to usher in a new stage in diplomatic relations and cooperation between Tehran and Mexico City.
Speaking at a meeting with Mexican officials, the Iranian diplomat underscored the two nations’ significant potential to strengthen collaboration across economic, trade, cultural and political sectors. Mr. Gholami argued that expanding bilateral ties would benefit both sides while also contributing to regional peace and development.
Until now, Iran-Mexico relations had largely remained at a basic diplomatic level. Ambassador Gholami affirmed that Tehran is ready to launch concrete joint projects, especially in energy, agriculture and technology. He also called on businesses from both countries to boost trade exchanges and take advantage of emerging investment opportunities.
For its part, Mexico welcomed Iran’s goodwill, reiterating its own commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation based on mutual respect. The two sides agreed to step up high-level visits and political consultations in the coming period.
