Iran formally condemned US actions of interference in Cuba's internal affairs, calling them a serious violation of international law and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
In a statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry emphasized: "Iran firmly opposes any form of external intervention in the affairs of sovereign states. Cuba has the right to self-determination and to develop along its own path, free from any pressure or coercion by the United States."
Tehran also expressed solidarity with Havana as the US continues its decades-long economic embargo against Cuba. Iran called on the international community to condemn Washington's unilateral sanctions, which cause severe humanitarian consequences for the Cuban people.
The move comes amid already tense US-Iran relations and reflects Tehran's consistent stance of supporting developing nations facing pressure from Western powers.
Cuba and Iran maintain traditional friendly diplomatic ties, frequently coordinating in multilateral forums to boost cooperation and oppose US interventionist policies.
