Tehran on March 29 formally condemned acts of desecration against mosques and attacks targeting Palestinians, calling them serious violations of international law and religious and humanitarian values.
In a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the Islamic Republic expressed outrage over incidents of mosque desecration and criticized recent assaults on Palestinian civilians. Tehran emphasized that these actions not only violate the fundamental principles of Islam but also run counter to United Nations resolutions and international humanitarian law.
Iran called on the international community, particularly organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to take urgent action to prevent an escalation of violence, protect Islamic holy sites, and ensure the security of the Palestinian people. The statement also reiterated Iran’s support for the Palestinian right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The move comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with numerous clashes and attacks occurring in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Iran has repeatedly affirmed its opposition to all forms of violence and religious desecration, while expressing readiness to support diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring peace.
