Tehran, October 14 – A senior Iranian official declared Monday that Iran cannot accept the ongoing “atrocities” committed by Israel in Lebanon and warned that it would respond appropriately.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, the official emphasized: “Iran cannot be a passive spectator to the savage and brutal acts that the Israeli regime is carrying out against the people of Lebanon.”
The official also urged the international community, particularly the United Nations and human rights organizations, to intervene immediately to prevent an escalation of violence and protect innocent civilians.
The warning followed a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting positions in southern and eastern Lebanon, which killed at least 12 people and wounded dozens more.
Iran, which holds considerable influence over the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, has repeatedly condemned Israeli military operations in the region, viewing them as violations of sovereignty and international law.
Tehran further stated that it will continue to support Lebanon politically and diplomatically, and does not rule out any measures to protect its national interests and regional security.
