Iran is planning a comprehensive restructuring of its defense industry, using lessons learned from recent wars and conflicts as a foundation for development. This move is seen as a strategic step to modernize the country's weapons production and military equipment capabilities.
According to Iranian defense officials, the reform process will focus on extracting practical lessons from military operations in the region, especially direct confrontations and proxy wars that Iran has participated in or supported. Priority areas include air defense systems, ballistic missiles, UAV technology, and electronic warfare.
Analysts believe this overhaul aims not only to strengthen deterrence but also to make Iran more proactive in dealing with emerging security challenges. The reform program is expected to be implemented in phases, with the participation of research centers, academic institutions, and domestic military enterprises.
This is considered one of the most significant changes in Iran's defense policy in recent years, reflecting Tehran's efforts to maintain an important military position in the Middle East amid increasingly complex geopolitical competition.
