Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Sunday that the unity of the Iranian people during a 12-day war forced the enemy to sue for peace.
Speaking at a press conference, Pezeshkian emphasized that the recent conflict had clearly demonstrated the spirit of national solidarity, from the armed forces to ordinary civilians. “Unity created an invincible strength, causing the opponent to abandon its ambitions and seek a diplomatic solution,” he said.
According to local sources, the 12-day war began after clashes erupted on Iran’s western border. The Iranian military coordinated closely with other armed forces to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity. No major casualties have been reported on the Iranian side, while the enemy’s losses have not been officially disclosed.
Analysts suggest Pezeshkian’s statement aims to reaffirm the government’s strength amid growing international pressure. Iran, isolated by sanctions, has repeatedly stressed its self-defense capabilities and the importance of national unity.
There has been no official reaction from the adversary mentioned. However, preliminary negotiations are expected in the coming days mediated by a third party.
