West Indies captain Shai Hope is worried he may have to pay excess baggage fees after collecting his third player-of-the-match award of the tour of India.
The wording is not cricket-accurate: Hope's unbeaten 102 in Wednesday's fourth T20I helped West Indies level the series in Hyderabad. He also scored a century in the second T20I in Ranchi.
Hope has been in scorching form throughout the tour, with two centuries in the preceding One-Day International series. While pleased with his performances, he said he was struggling to fit the awards into his luggage.
"To be honest, they are a bit heavy, and we have to re-look at the baggage weight," he joked after West Indies won by 24 runs.
"I think we are going to have some issues getting home."
Hope said a strong start in Hyderabad was key.
"We had a fifty-plus opening partnership," he added. "So it was good that we started the innings and got that foundation; you can express yourself more in the middle and try to give the team the best finish possible."
Hope struck nine sixes off 50 balls and drew admiration from the opposition.
"We need to respect what he is doing," India opener Sanju Samson said. "He is playing really good cricket shots, not taking too many risks and respecting the bowlers as well."
Hope will look to create more luggage trouble for himself in the series decider on Saturday in Bengaluru.
West Indies next travel to Bangladesh for a two-Test series later this month. The hosts will breathe a sigh of relief knowing Hope is being rested ahead of February's ODI World Cup qualifiers.
