Over 60 Drones Strike Primorsk Port; Leningrad Governor Confirms

A large-scale drone attack on the Primorsk commercial port in northwestern Russia was repelled overnight, with more than 60 UAVs shot down. Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed no oil spill occurred. The port is one of the largest oil ports in the region, located on the Gulf of Finland.
Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed that early on May 3, air defense forces successfully intercepted a large-scale drone attack targeting the region.
In a statement on Russia’s domestic messaging app Max, Drozdenko said more than 60 enemy UAVs were shot down. The primary target of the attack was the Primorsk commercial port, where a fire later broke out. The flames were extinguished, and no oil spill was reported.
The Port of Primorsk is one of the largest oil ports in northwestern Russia, located on the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. The incident comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with drone attacks increasingly targeting Russian energy and transportation infrastructure.
