Hezbollah in Lebanon on (XX) issued a warning that it will respond appropriately to what it calls Israel's "new occupation" actions in the border area. The statement came amid continued escalation in tensions between the two sides after weeks of fighting.
In an official message, a senior Hezbollah official stressed that any changes on the ground carried out by Israel are unacceptable, and affirmed that the armed group is prepared for all scenarios. "We will not stand idly by in the face of any territorial infringement. The response will come at the right time and be appropriate," the official said.
Security sources reported that in recent days, the Israeli military has stepped up operations in several disputed areas near the Lebanon border, including building new observation posts and deploying additional troops. Israel says these measures are necessary to ensure the security of its northern communities.
In response, Hezbollah accused Israel of violating previous ceasefire agreements and considered this a provocative act aimed at destabilizing the region. The group also called on the international community to condemn Israel's actions, while affirming its legitimate right to self-defense.
The current situation has many analysts worried about the risk of a large-scale conflict in the Middle East, especially as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate have stalled. The United Nations has called on both sides to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could lead to unpredictable consequences.
Earlier, multiple artillery shelling and airstrikes along the Lebanon-Israel border resulted in dozens of casualties, raising fears of a new full-scale war between Hezbollah and the Israeli military.
