Hamas has accused Israel of committing war crimes through its treatment of Palestinian female prisoners, citing harsh conditions and violations of international law. The group called on the global community to intervene and demand compliance with the Geneva Conventions. Israel has not yet responded to the allegations.
The Hamas movement on December 12 issued a statement strongly criticizing the treatment of Palestinian female prisoners within Israel's prison system. Hamas called this a war crime and a serious violation of international conventions on human rights and prisoners' rights.
According to the statement, many Palestinian women detained in Israel are subjected to harsh detention conditions, including shortages of food, water, and medical care. Hamas accused Israeli authorities of using psychological and physical torture and preventing prisoners from contacting their families and lawyers.
The group called on the international community to condemn Israel's actions and demanded that Tel Aviv fully comply with the Geneva Conventions regarding the treatment of prisoners. Hamas also warned that continuing these practices would lead to serious consequences.
There has been no official response from Israel regarding the accusation. International human rights organizations have previously raised concerns about the detention of Palestinian women, demanding transparent judicial processes and improved prison conditions.
