PARIS, May 3. /TASS/. Prices of construction materials in France have seen a significant rise amid tensions related to Iran, according to Le Parisien newspaper, citing the Confederation of Small Enterprises in the Building Sector (CAPEB).
The cause has been identified as higher fuel production costs and disruptions in international supply chains due to soaring transport costs.
According to the newspaper, more than 60% of small renovation businesses reported receiving price increase notices from suppliers, with some products rising by up to 20%. The main items affected include lumber, concrete, copper, zinc, paints and varnishes, as well as some insulation materials.
The most pronounced price hikes have been recorded for plastics and bitumen.
