In a statement published on his official social media account, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf expressed deep gratitude to Rais Ali Delvari, a renowned resistance leader in the struggles against foreign aggression in Bushehr Province, southern Iran.
Rais Ali Delvari (1882-1915) was one of the prominent figures of the anti-British colonial movement in the Persian Gulf region. He led guerrilla attacks against British forces in the Delvar area, inflicting heavy casualties on the occupying troops. September 3 is observed annually as a national commemoration day in his honor.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghalibaf stressed that Delvari's indomitable spirit symbolizes the Iranian nation's steadfast will to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also called on the younger generation to learn about and follow the example of national heroes.
The event comes as Iran organizes various commemorative activities aimed at promoting patriotic traditions and recalling the glorious chapters of the country's struggle for independence.
