Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has warned countries in the region against cooperating with and supporting artificial intelligence (AI) companies linked to Israel, as regional technology and security tensions continue to mount.
According to remarks attributed to him, Ghalibaf said states should think carefully before providing infrastructure, data or resources to AI firms with ties to Israel. He stressed that such cooperation could carry security consequences, particularly as AI technology is increasingly used in sensitive fields.
The Iranian parliament speaker's message comes as many countries in the region push to develop AI and seek foreign technology partners. Iran has long voiced concern about technology cooperation involving Israel, viewing it as one of the risks to be weighed in policymaking.
There has been no official response so far from the countries mentioned or from the AI companies involved. The development shows that AI technology is becoming a new front in the region's strategic and security calculations.
