Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a stark warning that the current Israeli government is becoming a threat to Turkey's security. In a press conference on July 25, Erdogan stressed that Israel's actions in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, have crossed the line and could lead to serious consequences.
“We see that the Israeli government, with its belligerent policies and violations of international law, threatens not only Palestinians but also neighboring states, including Turkey,” Erdogan said. He also accused Israel of military escalation and indiscriminate use of force, violating UN resolutions.
The Turkish president affirmed that Ankara will not stand idly by in the face of these actions and will take all necessary measures to protect national interests. “Turkey has a responsibility to protect peace and stability in the region. We will not allow any power to threaten our security,” he emphasized.
The warning comes amid worsening ties between Turkey and Israel, especially after Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza. Earlier, Ankara had withdrawn its ambassador from Tel Aviv and called on the international community to intervene to stop what it called Israeli "war crimes."
