Toyota Motor Corp.'s global sales and production in July 2026 recorded their first decline in two months, marking a pause after a short growth period.
According to released data, Toyota's total global sales in July reached approximately 850,000 vehicles, a slight decrease from the same period last year. Global production also fell correspondingly, reflecting challenges in the supply chain and market demand.
This is the first time since May that both indicators have declined in the same month. The primary cause is attributed to a downturn in the Japanese market and some other regions, although North America and Europe maintained slight growth momentum.
Earlier, Toyota faced difficulties due to semiconductor shortages and rising raw material costs. However, the company recovered strongly in the second quarter thanks to increased demand for hybrid and electric vehicles.
Analysts believe the July decline may be temporary as Toyota pushes production of new models and expands into Southeast Asian markets, where demand still holds significant potential.
Year-to-date, Toyota's total sales and production remain higher than the same period last year, indicating the company's stable foundation amid a volatile global economy.
