On April 10, an Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf departed for Qatar for a multi-day official visit.
The news was reported by the IRNA news agency, which noted that the delegation includes several lawmakers and senior officials, highlighting the significance of the trip as Iran steps up regional diplomacy.
In Qatar, Speaker Ghalibaf is expected to hold bilateral talks with Qatari leaders, focusing on economic cooperation, security, and international issues of mutual concern. This is the first visit by Iran's parliamentary head to Qatar since the two countries strengthened ties following regional conflicts.
Analysts say the trip reflects Tehran's efforts to promote dialogue and reduce tensions in the Persian Gulf region, while also reinforcing Doha's mediating role in negotiations between Iran and relevant parties.
