Russian Diplomat: European NATO Nations Obsessed with ‘Inevitability of War’
TASS
Russia's envoy to Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, has accused European NATO members of being obsessed with the inevitability of war and trying to demonstrate their readiness. He cited the Northern Strike exercise in Finland, just 70 km from the Russian border, as evidence of NATO paving the way for a real conflict.
VIENNA, May 2 (TASS). Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, criticized European NATO member states for being obsessed with the notion of the inevitability of a new war in Europe and for actively trying to demonstrate their preparedness for such a conflict.
“European NATO member states are obsessed with the idea of the ‘unavoidable war in Europe’ and the desire to show their mental and technical readiness for it,” he wrote on the social media platform X.
In this context, the diplomat pointed to the NATO joint exercise Northern Strike, which has begun in Finland, just 70 kilometers from the Russian border. Mr. Ulyanov concluded: “It seems that they are really paving the way for a real war.”
