Iranian Ambassador Urges Iran and Iraq to Move Scientific Cooperation Beyond Student Exchanges

According to information from the Iranian side, Iran's ambassador to Iraq has called on the two neighboring countries to change the way they cooperate on science, moving away from a model based mainly on student exchanges.

Speaking as bilateral relations between Tehran and Baghdad are being promoted across a range of fields, the diplomat stressed that academic cooperation needs to go beyond admitting students and toward deeper forms of professional coordination.

The specific details of the proposal have not been fully disclosed, but the implication is that the two sides should reconsider the focus of their educational and research cooperation, rather than maintaining only the student exchange programs currently in place.
