Iran's Minab 168 University team claimed the runner-up position at the 2025 World University Martial Arts Championships, according to an official announcement from the organizers. This marks the highest achievement by an Iranian delegation at this year's event.
The tournament brought together over 40 teams from leading universities worldwide, competing in various martial arts disciplines including karate, taekwondo, judo, and traditional martial arts. Minab 168 University demonstrated outstanding prowess, overcoming strong opponents to reach the finals and secure the overall second place.
Speaking after the competition, a representative of the Iranian sports delegation expressed pride in the students' achievement, emphasizing that it was the result of rigorous training and systematic investment in school sports.
This year's championship title went to a university from East Asia, while third place was claimed by a European team. The organizers commended the fair-play spirit and professional standards demonstrated by all participating teams.
