On December 25, a delegation from the Islamic movement Hamas, led by the movement's leader Khaled Meshaal, visited the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA) in Tehran. The visit took place amid increased coordination between the two sides regarding information on the situation in the Middle East.
During the meeting, Meshaal and delegation members held talks with IRNA Director General Hossein Hosseini, as well as the agency's editors and reporters. Discussions focused on accurately and objectively covering developments in Gaza and the region, as well as the role of journalism in informing the public.
According to IRNA, the visit aimed to enhance media cooperation and exchange expertise between the Iranian news agency and Hamas-affiliated press bodies. The two sides also discussed plans for joint programs in the coming period.
The visit by Hamas representatives to a major Iranian media outlet comes amid continued close ties between Iran and the Islamic movement, particularly on matters related to Palestine and the conflict with Israel.
