The organizing committee for commemorative activities has announced plans to mark the 40th day after the burial of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, scheduled to take place over two days on August 16 and 17 at various locations across the country.
On the morning of August 16, a delegation will offer incense at the Ho Chi Minh President Relic Site, where an altar for the General Secretary has been placed. The same evening, a special art program titled “A Loyal Communist” will be held at Ba Dinh Square.
On the morning of August 17, the official memorial ceremony will take place at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of leaders from the Party, State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and a large number of citizens. In the afternoon, the delegation will visit the General Secretary’s grave at Mai Dich Cemetery and release flower lanterns on the Red River in remembrance.
In addition, during these two days, provinces, cities, agencies, and organizations will hold various tribute activities such as visiting the family, seminars, and photo exhibitions about the life and career of the General Secretary.
