With six points from two matches, Colombia is guaranteed to progress regardless of the result in their final group match against Portugal, who beat Uzbekistan 5-0 on the same day. DR Congo, with only one point, must beat Uzbekistan in their final game to keep their hopes alive.
Colombia dominated possession and created several dangerous chances, but DR Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi delivered an outstanding performance, repeatedly denying shots from James Rodriguez, Luis Diaz, and Jhon Arias.
The breakthrough came in the 76th minute when Juan Quintero fed the ball to Munoz, who surged into the box. The defender fired a low shot that deflected off a defender’s foot and into the net, leaving Mpasi with no chance.
