Speaking at a full session of parliament, he emphasized that foreign sanctions and pressures cannot shake the will of the Iranian people, while calling for nationwide unity to overcome the challenges.
"We are facing a comprehensive economic war, but history has shown that the Iranian people always know how to turn pressure into opportunity," the Parliament Speaker said. "With national solidarity and a spirit of self-reliance, we will certainly defeat all enemy conspiracies."
He also pointed out that many other countries have faced similar sanctions and still managed to grow and develop, and Iran will do the same. The Speaker urged the government to continue advancing economic reforms, support domestic businesses, and seek new trade partners to mitigate the impact of restrictive measures.
The statement comes as Iran's economy grapples with significant difficulties due to international sanctions, particularly in the oil and banking sectors. However, according to the official, this is not a new challenge, and the country has accumulated relevant experience in responding to such pressures.
Earlier, several senior Iranian officials have repeatedly expressed confidence in the economy's resilience, asserting that the country's decreasing reliance on oil and the growth of domestic production sectors will help it withstand all external pressures.
