This morning (local time), Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in the capital Baghdad, beginning an official visit to Iraq. Shortly after arrival, Ghalibaf held talks with the Iraqi Parliament Speaker at the latter's headquarters.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation across various fields, especially given the complex regional developments. Discussions centered on enhancing legislative coordination and advancing common agreements between the two countries.
The Iraqi Parliament Speaker stressed the importance of maintaining regular dialogue between the two parliaments, calling it a vital channel for addressing shared concerns. For his part, Ghalibaf affirmed Iran's commitment to its relationship with Iraq and its desire to expand cooperation within the framework of mutual interests.
Beyond bilateral matters, the two legislative leaders also discussed security and stability issues in the region, particularly recent developments in the Middle East. According to the schedule, Ghalibaf is expected to meet with other senior Iraqi officials before concluding his visit.
