Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, during his visit to Baghdad, met with Iraq's Chief Justice Faiq Zidan on June 13. The two sides focused on discussing judicial and legislative cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
At the meeting, Ghalibaf emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, including justice, to promote mutual interests. According to Iranian media, the Iranian Parliament Speaker also highlighted the role of the judiciary in ensuring regional security and stability.
For his part, Chief Justice Zidan expressed willingness to cooperate and stressed that Iraq's judicial bodies are ready to coordinate with Iran on legal matters, particularly regarding cases involving transnational crimes, and to enhance the exchange of expertise.
Ghalibaf's visit to Iraq is part of efforts to promote high-level dialogue between the two countries, following previous meetings with Iraqi officials to discuss trade, energy, and regional issues.
